PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Isaac Frost (ranked 3941 p4p, 3631 weight class) and Scott Gabel (ranked 476 p4p, 452 weight class). Frost comes to the cage accompanied by Sean O'Malley. Gabel has chosen Lil Wayne- Right Above It as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Isaac Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Gabel!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabel slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Frost tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gabel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Frost throws a sloppy head kick and Gabel moves out of range easily.
Nice body punch from Gabel.
Gabel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Frost is fending him off so far but Gabel persists. Nope, Frost circles away and we're back to standing.
Frost will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gabel misses with an uppercut. Frost saw that one coming.
Gabel missing with a left hand there. Frost was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Frost tries to counter with a takedown but Gabel is quick to defend against it.
Gabel shoots for a takedown but Frost saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Frost throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Frost has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Sydney in the buildup to the fight.
Gabel misses with a hook. Frost ducked under it nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Frost. Those never looked like landing.
Frost drops his hands momentarily and Gabel takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nice straight punches there by Gabel. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gabel.
Frost fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gabel manages to avoid it.
Gabel has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Frost is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Frost moves in looking to clinch but Gabel pushes him off.
Gabel looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A head kick from Frost lands but Gabel takes it in his stride.

and Gabel counters with a lovely straight right hand!

The fight stays on the outside here - Frost looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Frost is looking to break free of the clinch but Gabel has double underhooks.

Frost breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Frost smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Frost closes the distance but Gabel moves to the side
and Gabel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gabel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gabel looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Frost throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Nice straight punches there by Gabel. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gabel.
Frost moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Gabel wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gabel fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Frost swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Frost tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gabel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Frost throws a series of punches but Gabel avoids them all with ease.

Frost wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Gabel is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Frost wants to break the clinch but can't.
Frost wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Frost will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gabel up against the cage.

Gabel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Gabel is looking to stall here but Frost recovers full guard.

Isaac Frost seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Frost throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gabel stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Frost uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gabel.

Frost crunches a lovely knee into Gabel's ribcage.

Frost manages to break the clinch.
Frost throws a series of punches but Gabel avoids them all with ease.

Gabel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A telegraphed right hand from Gabel misses the target.
Gabel lands with an overhand left.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Frost steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gabel.
Frost moves to clinch but Gabel breaks away
and Gabel counters with a straight right hand.

enabling Gabel to counter with a crisp jab.
Frost moves out of range as Gabel strikes.
Gabel blocks a head kick by Frost.
Frost ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gabel circles away from the clinch attempt.
Frost looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Frost throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gabel.

Frost darts in and clinches Gabel up against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Gabel.
Gabel effectively controlling the action here.

Frost breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gabel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gabel has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Frost after a bit of a struggle.

Gabel stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Frost is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gabel is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Frost to the mat. Frost regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gabel won't allow Frost to get back to his feet.

Gabel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Frost's guard.
Frost tries to kick Gabel off but Gabel keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Frost seems to have got his legs back now.

Gabel is looking to take a break and control but Frost is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gabel is trying to control. Frost wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gabel lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Gabel moves nicely into side control.
Gabel cracks Frost with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Gabel immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Frost is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Gabel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scott Gabel!
An intense looking Scott Gabel took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Narayan Nassau you ugly MotherF***er, I know you are watching from home. Im the best f***ing wrestler in this division and I guarantee that hit a lot harder than any of your sparring partners. Your place in this division and this MMA promotion is a mistake that I intend to correct. '.
In defeat, Isaac Frost stepped up to the mic, saying 'Despite losing this fight a big thanks to the Organization Quick Fight Championships for the fight offre tonight and thanks on the fans and public for support me . I'll be back better and stronger . Congrats on my opponent who was tonight better as me . I'll be back better and stronger .'.
