PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Rasmussen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Claude Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mousasi has chosen Hi-Gate: Pitchin as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasmussen throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Rasmussen slips a straight right by Mousasi.
Rasmussen checks a low kick from Mousasi.
Rasmussen tries to clinch up.
Rasmussen throws a nice looking combination but Mousasi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rasmussen gets a clinch.
Rasmussen prevents Mousasi from breaking the clinch.

Mousasi drags the fight down to the ground.
Rasmussen wants to stand but Mousasi has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rasmussen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Rasmussen wants to pass the guard but Mousasi is keeping the position.

Mousasi is pulling down on Rasmussen's head to control his posture.

Mousasi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rasmussen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rasmussen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mousasi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Mousasi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rasmussen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rasmussen and Mousasi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Mousasi is looking for a kimura but Rasmussen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mousasi to get the leverage.

Mousasi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rasmussen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mousasi lands with a punch from half guard.
Rasmussen wants to get back to full guard.
Rasmussen on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Mousasi working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Rasmussen has one foot on Mousasi's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Mousasi shoots in but no luck this time.
Horrible takedown by Rasmussen or perhaps it was just good defense by Mousasi which made him look bad.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mousasi can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rasmussen cracks Mousasi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Klaus Rasmussen will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

This has been an exciting period of action!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rasmussen shoots in for a takedown but Mousasi shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Klaus Rasmussen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mousasi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Rasmussen clinches up with Mousasi and pushes him back against the cage.

Mousasi prevents a body shot from Rasmussen.
Rasmussen using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Rasmussen lands with a short shot to the head.
Mousasi is trying to break the clinch but Rasmussen has him pressed against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Klaus Rasmussen showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Rasmussen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
