Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kaapo Westerinen!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Song shoots in for a takedown but Westerinen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Westerinen feints a counter leg kick.
We've been told by Song's head coaches at Xtreme Black House that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Song throws a body shot but no joy.
Song swings away with a body shot that misses
and Westerinen counters with a thumping low kick.

and Westerinen counters with a thumping low kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Westerinen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Song looks to land a left hand but Westerinen moved out of range nicely.

Song shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Westerinen is trying to defend but Song finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Westerinen felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Song working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Westerinen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Song. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Song wants to pass to mount but Westerinen is defending the position.

Song perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Song has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Song seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Song is working Westerinen over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
