Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brutus Leagatius (ranked 175 p4p, 153 weight class) and Rodney Alcala (ranked 2 p4p, 1 weight class). Alcala is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Leonard Cohen - Everybody Knows. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leagatius misses with a body shot.
Leagatius throws a nice looking combination but Alcala bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Alcala is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Leagatius definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Alcala misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alcala throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Alcala throws a shot from downtown. Leagatius moves away and avoids it.
Alcala has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Leagatius cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Alcala counters with a three punch combo that has Leagatius backing up. Leagatius nods at Alcala to acknowledge the strikes.

Leagatius lands a big right hand that sends Alcala crashing to the mat! Leagatius stays standing though and waves Alcala back to his feet!

It looked like Leagatius wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Leagatius throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Alcala now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Leagatius fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Alcala out cold! Brutal finish!

In his post fight interview, Brutus Leagatius started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
