PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Death Minister (ranked 289 p4p, 469 weight class) and Ziggy Stardust (ranked 35 p4p, 54 weight class). Minister comes into the arena with Rhapsody of Fire blaring out of the sound system. Stardust is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Starman. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minister changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Minister ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stardust moves away.
Minister looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Stardust throws an overhand right that lands on Minister's shoulder, as Minister tries to avoid the shot.
Stardust throws a hook but Minister blocks it.
Stardust takes one to the side of the head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Minister darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Stardust has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Minister finds it's way round the side to connect with Stardust's head.

Stardust cracks Minister with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stardust gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Stardust escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fighters circling - Minister throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Stardust throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Minister gets tackled into the cage by Stardust. Stardust maintains the clinch.
Stardust tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Minister prevents a body shot from Stardust.
Stardust struggles to land a body shot inside as Minister controls his hands.
Stardust tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Stardust breaks the clinch.
Minister throws an overhand right that lands on Stardust's shoulder, as Stardust tries to avoid the shot.
Death Minister seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Minister throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stardust sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Stardust slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Minister is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Minister fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stardust manages to avoid it.
Minister throws a poor cross that misses
and Stardust counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Minister shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stardust lands a jab to the head.

Oh Minister is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Minister tries to keep at a distance but Stardust has taken the fight into the clinch.

Stardust escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stardust has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Minister throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stardust misses with an uppercut.
Minister is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Stardust tests Minister's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Minister misses with a looping left.

Stardust lands a big shot that drops Minister! Can he finish him?

Stardust stands and steps away. Minister gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Stardust moves out of range as Minister strikes.
Minister ducks under a wild hook from Stardust.
Minister lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Stardust lands a right hook to the body.
Minister misses with a double jab.
Minister takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Minister takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Minister is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stardust cracks Minister with an uppercut from hell and Minister crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Stardust's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Stardust stands up from Minister's guard - Stardust perhaps looking for a knockout.

Stardust moves into range and clinches up with Minister.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Stardust drops Minister with a straight right hand, right on the button! Stardust follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ziggy Stardust really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Brooklyn Apothecary logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
Death Minister was interviewed post fight and said 'You have survived the Death Minister, you mortal life has been spared for now.'.
