The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Chekov.
Chekov connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Chekov misses with a few strikes there.
Chekov takes a swing at Bornemann 's ribcage but misses.
Chekov is looking to land body kicks.
Chekov throws a body punch but Bornemann moves out of range.
Bornemann drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bornemann drops back looking for a leg! Chekov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Chekov manages to kick Bornemann off! Bornemann jumps back into Chekov's guard.
Chekov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bornemann pushing down on Chekov's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Bornemann is trying to control the action in half guard but Chekov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Chekov pushes Bornemann off looking to stand but Bornemann dives back in and keeps control.
Bornemann is looking for a kimura but Chekov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bornemann to get the leverage.
Bornemann is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Chekov has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bornemann wants to free his trapped foot but Chekov is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Chekov pushes Bornemann off looking to stand but Bornemann dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chekov is trying to get back to full guard.
Bornemann is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Chekov is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
