PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Griffin (ranked 4389 p4p, 4318 weight class) and Pawel Poselek (ranked 364 p4p, 0 weight class). Poselek has chosen Manieczki as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Poselek closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Griffin's guard.

Poselek is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Griffin has his foot on Poselek's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Poselek works his way back into a safe position though.

Poselek avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Poselek accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Poselek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Griffin keeps working.
Poselek lands a nice forearm strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Poselek has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Griffin is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Poselek yanks on the arm and Griffin is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Poselek.
