Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Etu Maamladu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Etu Maamladu will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sam Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Etu Maamladu!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Maamladu regains full guard. Nicely done.
Maamladu looking for a sweep. Not yet Maamladu, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maamladu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Scott avoids a series of strikes thrown by Maamladu.
Scott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Maamladu throws some wild stikes that Scott manages to avoid easily.
Scott is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Scott sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Maamladu takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Scott wants to improve his position but Maamladu is controlling well.

Scott wants to control the action here but instead Maamladu manages to pass to full mount!
Scott is trying to escape the mount.
Scott gets back to half guard.
Scott keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Maamladu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maamladu wants to control but Scott is keeping him busy.
Maamladu thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Scott's head.
Scott taking some punishment here, with Maamladu in his half guard.
Scott is looking to escape.
Maamladu throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Scott is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Maamladu pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott is breathing heavily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maamladu.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Maamladu swats away the attempt to clinch by Scott.

Scott looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Scott prevents Maamladu from improving his position.

Scott decides to stand and escape the position.
Maamladu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Scott scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Maamladu tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Maamladu tries to bench press Scott off him but Scott keeps the position.
Scott is looking to take a break and control but Maamladu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Scott wants to take a breather but Maamladu manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Scott.
Scott trying to control but Maamladu is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Scott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Maamladu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Scott rushes Maamladu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Maamladu jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Scott walks away with a smile on his face. Maamladu gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Maamladu tries to close the distance and clinch but Scott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Maamladu counters by clinching up.
Maamladu lands a knee to the head.
A knee to the head by Maamladu.
Maamladu misses with a knee strike.
A bit of stalling here from Scott.
Scott tries to break the clinch but Maamladu is controlling the position.
Scott has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Maamladu avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Maamladu gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Scott.

Maamladu gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Scott regains guard.
Maamladu wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Scott is trying to keep Maamladu in close.

Maamladu tries to stand but Scott is controlling from the bottom.

Scott wriggles free and stands up.

so Scott counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Maamladu looking for a sweep. Not yet Maamladu, not yet.

Scott wants to pass the guard but Maamladu is keeping the position.
Scott working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Scott is looking to work some ground and pound but Maamladu has wrist control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Scott decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Maamladu tries to roll over but Scott keeps him under control.
Maamladu slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Scott won't allow Maamladu to sweep him here.

Maamladu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Scott manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Maamladu clinches but Scott breaks the clinch
and Scott counters with a nice leg kick.
Scott plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Scott tries to close the distance and clinch up but Maamladu swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Maamladu pushes Scott up against the cage in a clinch.

Scott is looking to break free of the clinch but Maamladu has double underhooks.

Maamladu turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Maamladu manages to end up in side control.

Maamladu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Scott has escaped the position, nice work there.
Maamladu postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Maamladu missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Scott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Scott is trying to stand up here but Maamladu is controlling him well.
Sam Scott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Maamladu wants to free his trapped foot but Scott is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Maamladu throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Scott is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maamladu's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maamladu's back!
Maamladu turns into Scott and is now in his guard.
Maamladu stands and throws Scott's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Scott can't do much from the bottom here.
Maamladu works to advance to full mount. Scott defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Scott is looking to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maamladu lands a nice shot to the head.
Maamladu scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Maamladu is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Scott slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Scott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Maamladu is working away from the top position though.
Maamladu thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Scott's head.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Scott is trying to maintain the position but Maamladu is very close to passing his half guard.
Maamladu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Maamladu landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Maamladu blocks the strikes from Scott.
Etu Maamladu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Maamladu tries to close the distance and clinch but Scott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sam Scott is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Maamladu throws a head kick that misses
and Maamladu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

And that's the end of the fight!
Etu Maamladu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Scott has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
