PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Boxing OG (ranked 5092 p4p, 6003 weight class) and Charlie Johnston (ranked 623 p4p, 696 weight class). Johnston has chosen Same Old War as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boxing OG!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charlie Johnston!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OG misses with a looping right.
OG throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Johnston sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Johnston looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
OG throws a looping overhand right but Johnston ducks down to avoid it.
Johnston misses with an uppercut. OG saw that one coming.
Johnston throws a head kick that misses.
OG darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
OG jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Johnston throws a head kick but OG moves out of range.
Johnston throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
OG fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
OG cracks Johnston with a good jab.

and OG counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
OG wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Johnston throws a leg kick but OG moved away.
Johnston throws a poor cross that misses
enabling OG to counter with a crisp jab.
Johnston tries to score a power double leg takedown but OG sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnston somewhat.
OG lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
OG throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnston stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

OG throws an overhand right that lands on Johnston's shoulder, as Johnston tries to avoid the shot.
OG throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A decent looking cross lands there for OG.
Johnston throws a series of punches but OG avoids them all with ease.

OG bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Johnston's head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
OG connects with a right hand. Johnston shakes it off.
OG stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

A lazy left from OG finds it's target.

OG's jab looks to have found its range, popping Johnston under the eye.

and OG counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

OG thuds his right hand into Johnston's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
OG keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Johnston is rocked!
Johnston looks to land a body kick but OG moved away.
OG throwing a counter right hand but Johnston manages to avoid it.
OG moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Johnston is still on wobbly legs! Can OG finish him?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

OG swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Johnston.

A punch lands to the side of Johnston 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A jab lands there for OG.
OG catches Johnston with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
OG walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Johnston drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! OG swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Johnston's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Boxing OG!
In defeat, Charlie Johnston stepped up to the mic, saying 'This changes nothing! I will become champion one day, and everyone here will be very sorry!'.
