PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Wiggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Mackenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jesse Mackenzie!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiggs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mackenzie wants to clinch.
Wiggs moves out of range of the body kick from Mackenzie.
Mackenzie lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Wiggs lands with a straight right. Mackenzie didn't see that one coming.
Mackenzie throws a wild body kick that Wiggs sees coming a mile off.
Mackenzie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mackenzie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wiggs swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mackenzie moves in looking to clinch but Wiggs pushes him off.
Mackenzie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wiggs tries to avoid it but Mackenzie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wiggs to the ground. Wiggs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mackenzie feints and as Wiggs raises his hands in defense, Mackenzie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mackenzie must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Wiggs has his feet on Mackenzie's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Mackenzie throws a nice looking combination but Wiggs bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jesse Mackenzie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wiggs dodges the punch combination from Mackenzie.

Nice sprawl there from Wiggs as Mackenzie shoots in.

Wiggs connects with a looping right hand.
Mackenzie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wiggs as he avoids it easily.
John Wiggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Mackenzie.
Mackenzie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Wiggs swats away the attempt to clinch by Mackenzie.

Wiggs scores with the left hand. Mackenzie knows he should have avoided that one.
Wiggs smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mackenzie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Wiggs throws a lazy right hand but Mackenzie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Wiggs lands the left hand.
A big left from Mackenzie misses.
Wiggs is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Wiggs goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Mackenzie is rocked!
Mackenzie shoots for a takedown but Wiggs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Mackenzie is still on wobbly legs! Can Wiggs finish him?
Wiggs is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Wiggs cracks a nice hook into Mackenzie's ribs.
Wiggs drops Mackenzie with a naaaaasty hook - Mackenzie is in real trouble here! Wiggs dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
