PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Hood (ranked 5345 p4p, 3709 weight class) and Sono Tiger (ranked 509 p4p, 365 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sono Tiger was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sono Tiger!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiger swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tiger jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Hood uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tiger.
A telegraphed right hand from Hood misses the target.
Tiger throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hood was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Tiger lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hood definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tiger pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Hood sends Tiger crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hood is motioning to the referee to let Tiger up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like Sono Tiger has been cut.
Hood sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Tiger's defenses. It connects perfectly with Tiger's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bruce Hood!
Bruce Hood seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
In defeat, Sono Tiger stepped up to the mic, saying 'I may go back to the forrest from which I came or I may fight another day. Whether I am destined for greatness in MMA is not yet defined. This loss is will cause serious self-reflection. '.
