The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maki keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Maki tries to sprawl but Cervantes drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Cervantes is nestled in close to Maki, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Cervantes is looking for a kimura but Maki is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cervantes to get the leverage.
