Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jure Jez (ranked 6958 p4p, 24814 weight class) and Conor McNuggets (ranked 716 p4p, 794 weight class). McNuggets is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hypnotize- Biggie Smalls. Jure Jez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNuggets connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jez's hands.
McNuggets stalks Jez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jez's face. Jez staggers backwards, shaken.
Jez dodges the punch combination from McNuggets.

McNuggets bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jez's head backwards.
Jez slips a jab and a cross from McNuggets.
Jez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McNuggets paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McNuggets stalks Jez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jez's face. Jez staggers backwards, shaken.
Conor McNuggets seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McNuggets misses with a series of wild punches.
It appears Jez was looking to counter with a kick there.
Jez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jez on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

As McNuggets tries to get set, Jez tries to push him back and clinch up but McNuggets manages to avoid the attempt.

McNuggets breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Jez counters with a nice kick to the body.
McNuggets bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jez's head backwards.
McNuggets fails to land with a series of punches.

Jez moves into range and clinches up with McNuggets.

Jez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McNuggets looks to land a combination. Jez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Jez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McNuggets to score with a decent uppercut.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jez.
Jez wants to lay and pray for a moment but McNuggets keeps working.

Jez decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Jez dives in and grabs McNuggets's left leg, looking for a takedown. McNuggets pushes down on Jez's head and hops out.

McNuggets is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jez had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

McNuggets breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McNuggets has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Jez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McNuggets avoids it really well and circles away.
McNuggets misses with a two punch combination.
Jez thinks about countering with a head kick.
Jez drops his hands momentarily and McNuggets takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A left lands for McNuggets.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McNuggets lands a jab-cross combination.

Jez tries to clinch up.

McNuggets clobbers Jez with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McNuggets lands with an uppercut that bounces Jez off the cage and back into range.
McNuggets throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jez on the side of the head.

Jez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
McNuggets scores with the left hand. Jez knows he should have avoided that one.

Jez looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Jez manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
McNuggets wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jez is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A frustrated look appears on McNuggets's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Jez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McNuggets's efforts to push away.
McNuggets is trying to break free.
Jez tries for a takedown. No joy.
Jez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McNuggets just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jure Jez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jez will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning McNuggets up against the cage.
The referee calls for Jez to work.

Conor McNuggets showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McNuggets throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

McNuggets has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McNuggets throws a nice looking combination but Jez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McNuggets misses with a few strikes there.

McNuggets throws a combination. Jez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

McNuggets lands a left and a right that send Jez crashing to the mat, dazed. McNuggets thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Jez walks into a stiff left hand from McNuggets.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! McNuggets has cracked Jez with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! McNuggets lands another huge swinging hook and Jez tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Jez, before McNuggets can land any more shots!
