PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eza Nahka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kelly comes to the cage accompanied by For Those About to Rock. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eza Nahka!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nahka fails with a takedown attempt.
Kelly lands a head kick!

Nahka feints and as Kelly raises his hands in defense, Nahka changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelly is looking to stand up but Nahka isn't so interested in that idea.
Nahka trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Kelly manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Nahka looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kelly puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Nahka actively working from the bottom here.
Nahka is trying to get back to full guard.

Nahka looking for submissions off his back.

Kelly wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nahka keeps working.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nahka wants to improve his position but Kelly is controlling well.
Nahka looks gassed!

Nahka looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Nahka wants to sweep but Kelly has passed to side control!

Kelly decides to stand back up.
Nahka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nahka swats away the attempt to clinch by Kelly.

Kelly lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Kelly moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kelly doesn't manage to clinch there - Nahka circles away.
Kelly swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Nahka.
Nahka takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kelly.
Kelly scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Kelly throws a series of punches but Nahka avoids them all with ease.
Kelly scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Nahka fails with the takedown.
Jason Kelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eza Nahka.
Kelly stuffs the takedown.
Eza Nahka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kelly buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Nahka fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kelly sprawls well initially but Nahka persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Nahka is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kelly makes his way to full guard, as Nahka worked for a kimura.

Nahka postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kelly is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nahka, into his guard.

Kelly trying to control the position but Nahka is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nahka is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Kelly dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nahka fails with the takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nahka.
Nahka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jason Kelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eza Nahka.
Kelly stuffs the takedown attempt from Nahka. Nahka gets slowly back to his feet.

Nice sprawl there from Kelly as Nahka shoots in.
Horrible takedown by Nahka or perhaps it was just good defense by Kelly which made him look bad.
Nahka shoots in for a takedown but Kelly shows good takedown defense.
A cross from Kelly lands.
Nahka shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kelly pinned against the cage. Kelly gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kelly keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Kelly plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Jason Kelly is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nahka fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nahka shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kelly as he jumps to the side.

Nahka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nahka tries for a kimura but Kelly is defending well.

Nahka looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Nahka is breathing heavily.

Nahka goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kelly rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Nahka's guard! Nice work there by Kelly!

Nahka working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kelly doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kelly manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nahka looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Kelly is defending well. Nahka quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Kelly has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Nahka celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Eza Nahka!
