PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lex Durst (ranked 4788 p4p, 24495 weight class) and Ryan Ingle (ranked 548 p4p, 0 weight class). Ingle has chosen Magical Eraser as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lex Durst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryan Ingle!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ingle blocks a head kick by Durst.
Ingle looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Durst clinches up with Ingle and pushes him back against the cage.

Durst gets control of Ingle's arms and successfully pulls guard. Durst will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Durst on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Durst tries to get out of the position.
Durst wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Durst is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Durst manages to escape and get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Ryan Ingle has been cut.
Durst misses with a head kick.
Ingle lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Durst shoots in for a takedown but Ingle shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ingle tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Durst scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Durst drives through and clinches with Ingle against the cage.
Durst drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ingle pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lex Durst seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Durst looks for a takedown but Ingle sprawls well.
And Ingle tries to counter it with a takedown but Durst pushes his down on his head and steps out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lex Durst. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Durst shoots in but no luck this time.

Durst clinches with his opponent.

Durst breaks the clinch.
Durst dives in and grabs Ingle's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ingle pushes down on Durst's head and hops out.

Ingle is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Durst with a body shot.
Durst swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ingle counters with a body kick.
Durst is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ingle sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

A nice side step and Ingle releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Durst is pulling down on Ingle's head to control his posture.
Durst manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ingle manages to get himself to full guard.

Durst is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've been informed that Ingle has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Durst trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Durst not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Durst slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Durst is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ingle sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That's time! Durst's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Durst looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ingle is fending him off so far but Durst persists. Nope, Ingle circles away and we're back to standing.
Durst shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ingle pinned against the cage. Ingle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Durst shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ingle as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lex Durst. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ingle enables Durst to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ingle manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ingle is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Durst's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Durst scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Durst showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ingle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Durst moves into the clinch successfully.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Durst pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Durst scores with a jab. Ingle acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Durst closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ingle circles away.
Ingle now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Durst shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ingle as he jumps to the side.
Ingle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Durst connects with a single shot there.
Lex Durst is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ingle has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Durst is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ingle can do to turn this around?
Durst throws the kick towards the body but Ingle avoids it.

Durst closes the distance and clinches.
Durst is trying to drag Ingle to the mat but Ingle just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Durst scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Durst decides to pull guard.

Ingle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Durst manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ingle manages to get himself to full guard.

Ingle controls Durst momentarily but Durst frees himself.
Durst wants to stand but Ingle is controlling his posture from full guard.
Ingle utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Durst throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Durst passes into half guard.
Durst works his way into side control.
Durst controls the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Lex Durst dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Ryan Ingle's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Durst tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ingle defends well and Durst ends up having to push Ingle into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ingle is looking to take this one to the mat.

Durst forces Ingle back against the cage and clinches.

Durst shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ingle changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Durst thuds a left hand into Ingle's body.
Ingle takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Durst goes for a double leg but Ingle avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ingle continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lex Durst. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Durst has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ingle uses from the top position.
Durst pulls Ingle in close to his closed guard and prevents Ingle from doing any damage or advancing position.

Durst manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Durst is working for takedown but Ingle is calmly controlling the position for now.
Durst can't get the takedown.

Durst pulls guard effortlessly.
Durst is pulling down on Ingle's head to control his posture.
Durst looking for a sweep. Not yet Durst, not yet.
Durst wants to get back to his feet but Ingle is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Durst is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Durst is pulling down on Ingle's head to control his posture.
Durst has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Durst has his foot on Ingle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ingle works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Durst pushes Ingle up against the cage in a clinch.
Durst stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Durst drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ingle can't get the takedown.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Durst decides to pull guard.
Durst is adopting a defensive guard.
Ryan Ingle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Durst knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ingle on the ground.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Durst has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ingle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lex Durst showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Durst has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
