Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mareth Line (ranked 517 p4p, 349 weight class) and Shen Po (ranked 75 p4p, 55 weight class). Line comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Po has chosen Ei-tetsu Hayashi & 木下伸市 as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Po keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Line.
Line pivots, looking for a leg kick but Po is out of range and Line settles back down.
Mareth Line seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Line displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Po throws out the jab.

Po got a little sloppy there for a moment and Line has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Po has managed to get both his arms back between Line's legs - danger averted.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Po throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A little feinted left hand from Line on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Po jabs Line right on the nose. Line blinks but takes it well.
A telegraphed right hand from Line misses the target.
Line pivots, looking for a leg kick but Po is out of range and Line settles back down.
Po scores with a jab. Line acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Po slips under a jab.
Po paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Line lands a nice shot that snaps Po's head back.
Line on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Nice cross by Line.

Po feints and as Line raises his hands in defense, Po changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Line working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Po doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Po manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Line makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Line.
Po wants to control from the top but Line keeps moving.

Po content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Line has locked up a guillotine! Line's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Po is holding on here and Line must be using up a lot of energy. Po has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Line gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mareth Line!
A less than humble Mareth Line misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
