PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Dean (ranked 4885 p4p, 4964 weight class) and Jaguar Jones (ranked 220 p4p, 225 weight class). Dean comes into the arena with On to something blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugo Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jaguar Jones!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dean closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage.
Dean tries to circle away but Jones has him pinned against the cage.
Dean has Jones pressed against the cage.

Jones tightens his grip and picks Dean up, before dumping him to the ground. Dean manages to land in guard.

Dean pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.
Dean takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Jones drives through with a takedown into Dean's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jones postures up in Dean's guard and throws a big left but Dean blocks it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones stands and throws Dean's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jones tries to score with some ground and pound. Dean controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dean to the mat! Dean manages to get full guard.

Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dean does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jones goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dean has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jones but great work by Dean.

Hugo Dean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jaguar Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Dean fights it but they end up in guard.

I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
