Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roy Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Hoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Hoon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hoon lands a nice shot to the body.
An inside leg kick from Brown misses.
Roy Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brown throws a head kick that misses.
Hoon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Brown shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Hoon avoids a kick to the body.
Hoon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brown circles away quickly and effectively.
Hoon misses with a series of wild punches.
Brown lands a head kick. Hoon smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Hoon throws an overhand right that lands on Brown's shoulder, as Brown tries to avoid the shot.

Brown bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hoon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brown has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
