The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fulton avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fulton lands with a right hand.
Maddox goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Fulton throws a big shot that misses.
Maddox takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Fulton moves out of range as Maddox throws a body kick.

Fulton scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Tra Fulton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maddox misses with a head kick.

Maddox changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fulton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Maddox is looking to take a break and control but Fulton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Maddox shoots in for a double leg but Fulton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Maddox misses with a takedown attempt - Fulton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Maddox has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Maddox there as he acknowledges the shot.
Maddox is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
