These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rui slips a straight right by Maitonaama.
Rui half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Rui shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maitonaama as he jumps to the side.
Maitonaama looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Rui looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Maitonaama works Rui's body with a nice hook.
Rui moves out of range as Maitonaama strikes.
Rui takes one on the button.
Maitonaama keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Maitonaama scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rui doesn't seem bothered though.
Rui fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rui lands a really nice looking cross but Maitonaama seems unphased.
Maitonaama catches Rui with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Rui is rocked!

It looks like Ichigo Rui has been cut.
Maitonaama cracks Rui with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Rui falls to his knees and Maitonaama doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
