Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kai Kahanui (ranked 2616 p4p, 24533 weight class) and Salomon Mukunzi (ranked 351 p4p, 782 weight class). Mukunzi has chosen All We Got - Chance The Rapper as his entrance music. Kai Kahanui has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Kahanui misses.
Mukunzi throws a body shot but no joy.
Kahanui misses with a hook. Mukunzi ducked under it nicely.
Mukunzi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kahanui.
Kahanui is looking for a counter combo.
Mukunzi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kahanui is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mukunzi.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mukunzi! But no joy.
Mukunzi has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

It looked like Kahanui wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

It looks like Kahanui has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

and Kahanui makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mukunzi checks a leg kick.
Mukunzi throws a lazy right hand but Kahanui sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kahanui throws a predictable looking body shot
and Mukunzi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mukunzi throws a jab but it's blocked by Kahanui.

Mukunzi swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That kick from Kahanui tenderised Mukunzi's leg. Mukunzi is trying to keep his angry face on.
Kahanui tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kahanui connects with a leg kick.
Kahanui fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mukunzi checks it well.
Kahanui dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mukunzi. That did some damage!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

As Mukunzi backs away, Kahanui returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Mukunzi's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Kahanui works over Mukunzi's head and body with a nice combination.
Kahanui throws a leg kick but Mukunzi moved away.

Kahanui is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mukunzi can do to turn this around?

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Mukunzi might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Kahanui has got the better of the exchanges.
