Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Woodhall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Normandale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Woodhall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Normandale!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Normandale lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Woodhall throws a shot from downtown. Normandale moves away and avoids it.
Woodhall throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Normandale sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Woodhall swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Woodhall throws a lazy right hand but Normandale sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Normandale stuffs the takedown attempt from Woodhall. Woodhall gets slowly back to his feet.
Normandale misses with a head kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Woodhall blocks the leg kick.

Normandale looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Woodhall wants to control but Normandale is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Normandale is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Woodhall missing with punches from the bottom.
Woodhall wants to improve his position but Normandale is controlling well.
Normandale is looking to take a break and control but Woodhall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Woodhall is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Normandale avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Woodhall shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Normandale counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Normandale landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Normandale wants to control but Woodhall is keeping him busy.

Normandale is working for a kimura but Woodhall is defending it quite comfortably.
Normandale looks gassed!
Normandale is controlling the pace.
Woodhall trying to hold on to Normandale's head to control him but Normandale postures up.
Normandale trying to pass the guard but Woodhall defending well.

Woodhall moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Woodhall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Normandale on the ground.
Woodhall throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Normandale trying to control the position from guard on top but Woodhall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Normandale wants to control from the top but Woodhall keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Woodhall controls Normandale momentarily but Normandale frees himself.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Woodhall throws out a leg kick but Normandale moves out of range and Woodhall only half commits.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Woodhall. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Normandale shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Normandale showed some decent athleticism there.
Woodhall makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Woodhall.
Woodhall preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Normandale dominated that round.
That's time! Woodhall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A slapping leg kick lands for Normandale.

Normandale rushes Woodhall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Woodhall is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Woodhall wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Normandale has him pressed against the cage.
Normandale changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Woodhall fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Woodhall closes the distance and pushes Normandale back into the cage.

Woodhall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Normandale counters with an outside leg kick.
Normandale lands a high kick!
Normandale slips under a jab from Woodhall.
Woodhall tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Normandale.
Normandale creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Woodhall taking a bit of punishment here - Normandale scoring with strikes.
You can see the frustration on Woodhall's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Normandale tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Normandale has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Woodhall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Normandale wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Woodhall is not content to let Normandale control the position.
Woodhall is trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Normandale is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Woodhall knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Woodhall is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Normandale thows a huge punch but Woodhall dodges it nicely.

Normandale is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Woodhall has managed to free his arm - good work.
Normandale tries to pass the half guard into mount. Woodhall knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Normandale is thwarting Woodhall's attempts to control the position.

Normandale has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Woodhall defend it? Normandale steps over the head and cranks it - Woodhall is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Normandale!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Paul Normandale!
