The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Hurricane. No joy for Ousmane on that attempt.

and Ousmane decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hurricane's guard.
Hurricane is looking to stand back up but Ousmane counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hurricane.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And Ousmane tries to counter it with a takedown but Hurricane pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Piston Hurricane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hurricane's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ousmane under the eye.
Ousmane shoots in looking for a takedown but Hurricane manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ousmane's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ousmane changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Ousmane dives in and grabs Hurricane's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hurricane pushes down on Ousmane's head and hops out.
Hurricane stuffs the takedown attempt from Ousmane. Ousmane gets slowly back to his feet.
Ousmane takes one to the chin there.
Ousmane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hurricane tries to avoid it but Ousmane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hurricane to the ground. Hurricane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Piston Hurricane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kofi Ousmane.

Ousmane has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hurricane's body.
