The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baldwin throws a solid leg kick but Monger takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Baldwin.
Monger throws a big shot that misses.
Monger lands with a cross.
Baldwin misses with an attempted mid kick.
Baldwin misses with a low kick.

Monger looking to score a takedown here. Baldwin is defending well but Monger drives through and ends up in Baldwin's guard.

Baldwin scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Monger looks to land a right hand but Baldwin moved out of range.

Monger moves in looking to clinch but Baldwin pushes him off.

Monger shoots in and bounces Baldwin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Baldwin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Monger is controlling him.

Monger passes into half guard.

Monger seems to be working for a kimura but Baldwin defends the submission attempt.

Baldwin pushes Monger off and gets back to his feet.

Baldwin tries to keep at a distance but Monger has taken the fight into the clinch.
Monger goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Baldwin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Monger counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Baldwin!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Baldwin tries to bench press Monger off him but Monger keeps the position.

Baldwin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Monger asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Baldwin prevents Monger from moving into mount.
Baldwin is pushing Monger's head away, looking to escape. Monger manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Baldwin sneaks out the side door and pushes Monger away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
A head kick misses from Baldwin.

Monger's coach down at DK MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Monger's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Monger fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Baldwin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Monger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Baldwin's waist but Baldwin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Monger off to one side.
Baldwin motions for Monger to come forward. Baldwin throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Baldwin throws a head kick but Monger moves out of range.
Baldwin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Monger checks the leg kick.
Baldwin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like Kill Monger has been cut.
Monger shoots in and drives through. Baldwin sprawls well.

Monger moves into range and clinches up with Baldwin.

Baldwin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Baldwin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Monger tries to clinch but Baldwin moves out of range.
Brandon Baldwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monger wants to clinch.
It looked like Baldwin was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Baldwin lands a left and a right that send Monger crashing to the mat, dazed. Baldwin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Monger is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Look low, kick high! Baldwin uses the oldest trick in the book to send Monger tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Baldwin is absolutely delighted - when Monger wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
