Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Borris Borgus (ranked 4861 p4p, 4818 weight class) and Calvin Ferras (ranked 515 p4p, 513 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Calvin Ferras!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ben Hemmingworth and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borgus scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
No luck for Borgus with that takedown attempt.
Ferras takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nice sprawl there from Borgus as Ferras shoots in.
Ferras avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ferras stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ferras wants it to stay on the feet.

Borgus tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Borgus drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ferras is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ferras has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Borgus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ferras keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ferras tries to close the distance and clinch but Borgus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ferras throws a low kick but Borgus avoids it.
Borgus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ferras misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ferras instigates a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Borgus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ferras smiles and moves away.

Ferras has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Borgus is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ferras jumps guard but Borgus stands there with Ferras around his waist. Ferras gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Borgus goes for a takedown attempt but Ferras pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Borgus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ferras as he jumps to the side.
Ferras throws a series of punches but Borgus avoids them all with ease.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Borgus is defended easily by Ferras.
Ferras misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Borgus lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ferras stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ferras wants it to stay on the feet.
The fighters circle momentarily. Ferras darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A jab lands there for Ferras.
Borgus moves out of range of the body kick from Ferras.
Borgus throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Borgus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ferras but Ferras pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ferras goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ferras tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Borgus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ferras shoots in but Borgus avoids the takedown attempt easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Borris Borgus.
I think Borgus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
