The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Billings throws a lazy right hand but Kurtev sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Krisko Kurtev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Billings tries to keep at a distance but Kurtev has taken the fight into the clinch.
Billings wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kurtev has him pressed against the cage.
Kurtev goes for a takedown attempt but Billings pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kurtev shoots in looking for a takedown. Billings tries to sprawl out of it but Kurtev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Billings manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Donte Billings has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Krisko Kurtev.
