Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kajef Schulz (ranked 4549 p4p, 5000 weight class) and Blaine Assaudi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kajef Schulz had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kajef Schulz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Blaine Assaudi!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Assaudi misses

and Schulz counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Assaudi!
You can see the frustration on Assaudi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Schulz has control of an arm but Assaudi manages to advance to Schulz's back!
Schulz trying to control the action but Assaudi just sinks the hooks in.
Assaudi doesn't have the hooks in and Schulz manages to turn into his guard.
Schulz looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Assaudi wants to sweep but no luck.

Schulz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Schulz has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Schulz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schulz lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Schulz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Assaudi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Schulz controlling the position easily from mount.

Assaudi really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Schulz connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Assaudi keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Schulz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Schulz's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Assaudi is working to get back to half guard.
Assaudi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Schulz dives in and scores a takedown into Assaudi's guard.

Schulz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Assaudi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Schulz defends it easily.
Schulz cracks Assaudi with a solid left hand.
Schulz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Assaudi controls Schulz momentarily but Schulz frees himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Schulz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A nice inside leg kick there by Assaudi. That's going to slow Schulz down.
That kick from Assaudi tenderised Schulz's leg. Schulz is trying to keep his angry face on.

Assaudi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Assaudi gets caught napping as Schulz dives in and scores a takedown. Assaudi manages to retain guard.

Schulz is trying to work for a kimura but Assaudi is defending well.
Schulz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've been informed that Assaudi has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Further stalling from Schulz.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Assaudi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kajef Schulz dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Assaudi lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Assaudi takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Schulz doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Assaudi connects with a solid leg kick.

Schulz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Assaudi's guard.
Assaudi is wriggling around but Schulz manages to pass to half guard.

Kajef Schulz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Schulz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Assaudi for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Assaudi looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Assaudi connects with a looping right hand.
Assaudi lands a nice looking kick to the body. Schulz takes a step back to recover.
Assaudi throws a head kick that misses.
Blaine Assaudi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Schulz takes a kick to the side of the head.
Schulz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Assaudi scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Schulz takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Schulz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Schulz slows the pace down.
Schulz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Assaudi tries to improve position but can't.
Blaine Assaudi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kajef Schulz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Blaine Assaudi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Schulz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
