Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Orfeu Carone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Dark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Dark darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Carone wants to clinch up but Dark keeps it at a distance.
Carone avoids a kick to the body.
Carone closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dark circles away.

Dark moves into the clinch.
Dark lands a nice elbow.

Carone manages to break the clinch.

Dark closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Carone throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Carone is looking to reverse the position.
Dark wants to stand but Carone has his arm trapped.
Carone tries to buck Dark off but Dark is having none of it.

Dark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dark wants to work for an arm triangle but Carone is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dark bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dark swings around for an armbar but Carone sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dark's guard.

Carone decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Dark throws a series of punches but Carone moves out of range.
Dark thows a body shot but no joy.
Carone tries for a takedown but Dark circles away easily

so Dark counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orfeu Carone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dark wants to pass the guard but Carone is keeping the position.

Carone had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dark is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Carone Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dark's back instead.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Dark can't find room to land a body shot as Carone controls the action.

Carone has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dark is trying to keep an underhook but Carone manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Carone tries to close the distance and clinch but Dark swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Dark moves into the clinch.

Dark breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dark's waist but Dark gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carone off to one side.

Dark shoots for a double leg takedown but Carone sprawls well. He's pushed Dark's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Carone looks for the body kick but Dark saw that one coming.

Dark catches Carone with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Dark throws a nice looking combination but Carone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dark shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carone but Carone pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Carone throws a body kick that misses.
Carone shoots for a takedown but Dark saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Carone makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Dark goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Dark looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carone is fending him off so far but Dark persists. Nope, Carone circles away and we're back to standing.

and Carone counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dark won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dark manages to work his way to half guard, despite Carone's best efforts.

Carone stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Adam Dark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carone shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dark throws a series of punches but Carone avoids them all with ease.
Carone chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dark can pounce on him.

Carone is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dark defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Carone is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Dark with him. Dark is trying to defend but Carone has an arm under the chin now! Dark grimaces and is forced to tap out!
