Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nicodimus Scarfo (ranked 5210 p4p, 5054 weight class) and Blue Knight (ranked 577 p4p, 574 weight class). Nicodimus Scarfo had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Nicodimus Scarfo had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Knight shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Scarfo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Scarfo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Knight is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Knight advances to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scarfo pushes Knight off but Knight dives into side control.
Knight happy to just control the position for now.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Scarfo is working to avoid the ground and pound but Knight connects with a decent elbow.
Knight lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Knight is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Scarfo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Blue Knight decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
