Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dusan Miocic (ranked 5182 p4p, 6997 weight class) and Kiko Sousa (ranked 576 p4p, 667 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sousa explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Miocic works the jab nicely.
Sousa's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Sousa duly obliges.

Sousa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Miocic sprawls well initially but Sousa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Miocic wants to get back to his feet.

Sousa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Miocic has managed to free his arm - good work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Sousa shoots in for a takedown but Miocic shows good takedown defense.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sousa has managed to clinch.
Sousa drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Miocic gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Sousa is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Miocic gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Sousa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Miocic pinned against the cage. Miocic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Miocic swings wildly with an uppercut but Sousa uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sousa tries to pull guard but Miocic forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sousa has Miocic pressed against the cage.
Miocic has had enough of the clinch but Sousa keeps him there for the moment.

Sousa stands and steps away. Miocic gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Sousa shoots in looking for a takedown. Miocic tries to sprawl out of it but Sousa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Miocic manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
