PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Troy Hoffman (ranked 5395 p4p, 24628 weight class) and Kuba Dog (ranked 662 p4p, 778 weight class). Hoffman comes into the arena with Echo blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Troy Hoffman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kuba Dog!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoffman keeps the fight on the outside.
Hoffman lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hoffman, as that shot connected.

It looks like Kuba Dog has been cut.
Hoffman looks to land a combination but Dog avoids it well.
Dog slips a jab and a cross from Hoffman.
Dog tries to clinch up but Hoffman circles away and keeps his distance.
Dog shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hoffman pinned against the cage. Hoffman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dog throws a head kick that half lands.

Hoffman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hoffman manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dog wants to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dog is defended easily by Hoffman.
An attempted straight right counter from Hoffman misses the target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoffman lets loose with a powerful body kick. Dog will feel that in the morning.
Dog tries to close the distance and clinch but Hoffman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sloppy strikes from Dog. Those never looked like landing.
Dog throws out a powerful jab.
Hoffman scores with a sloppy right hand. Dog should have avoided that one.
Dog fails with the takedown
and Hoffman counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Troy Hoffman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kuba Dog.
Dog looks winded!
Dog on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Hoffman forces Dog back against the cage and clinches.

Hoffman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dog backs away from a small jab... but Hoffman lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Dog crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Hoffman with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Troy Hoffman!
