Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Cronix (ranked 4810 p4p, 4748 weight class) and King Victory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Cronix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, King Victory!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cronix clinches up with Victory and pushes him back against the cage.

Cronix pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Victory shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cronix manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Victory trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Victory trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cronix manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Cronix wants to stand but Victory has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cronix working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Cronix tries to stand but Victory is controlling from the bottom.

Cronix is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Cronix is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Victory fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cronix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Victory moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Victory wants to counter with a clinch but Cronix pushes him away.
Victory shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cronix as he jumps to the side.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

and Cronix counters with a nice double leg into side control. Victory won't be happy with that.

Victory prevents Cronix from improving position.
Victory is trying to control Cronix's posture but Cronix avoids it.

Cronix cracks Victory with a big elbow.
Victory stops Cronix from passing to mount.

Cronix is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Victory knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Victory manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cronix's best efforts.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

James Cronix dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Victory blocks a head kick by Cronix.
Victory tries to clinch there but Cronix circles away.
Cronix shoots in looking for a takedown. Victory tries to sprawl out of it but Cronix keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Victory manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cronix closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Victory to the mat! Victory manages to get full guard.
Cronix has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Victory can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cronix controls the pace.

Cronix has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cronix wanted to stand there but Victory had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Victory closes the distance and clinches up with Cronix, looking for a takedown. Victory pushes Cronix against the cage but Cronix circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
James Cronix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Victory.
Cronix tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Victory paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cronix leaves Victory with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Victory shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cronix pinned against the cage. Cronix gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Victory is breathing heavily.

Cronix lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Cronix trying to stand up but can't free himself from Victory's guard.
Victory can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cronix controls the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cronix's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Cronix takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Victory trying to control from the bottom.
Cronix passes the guard and advances to mount!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Victory is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

James Cronix dominated that second round.
That's time! Cronix's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Cronix bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cronix tries to stand but Victory is controlling his head.
Cronix is looking to take a break and control but Victory is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cronix is trying to get an arm triangle but Victory is defending well.

Victory tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Cronix presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Cronix tries to control but Victory wriggling away.
Cronix looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Victory is bucking up trying to escape but Cronix cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

James Cronix overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cronix is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Victory has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Victory regains half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cronix in particular looking to stall.
Cronix tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Victory wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cronix takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Victory is looking for a sweep. Cronix is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Cronix is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Victory has managed to free his arm - good work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cronix misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Cronix closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cronix lands in his opponent's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Victory is looking to stand up but Cronix isn't so interested in that idea.
Victory tries to land a sweep but no joy.

James Cronix is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Cronix has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
