Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Andersson (ranked 24490 p4p, 20522 weight class) and Perdue Willshire (ranked 488 p4p, 533 weight class). Alexander Andersson had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Andersson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 30 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perdue Willshire!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Willshire has closed the distance and engaged Andersson in a clinch.
Willshire just leaning against Andersson, taking a breather.

Willshire is trying to trip Andersson. He has hold of a leg but Andersson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Willshire persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Willshire trying to control but Andersson is working from the bottom.
Andersson keeping full guard, as Willshire tries to pass.
Willshire working some strikes from top position.
Willshire throwing strikes but missing.
Andersson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Willshire is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Andersson shoots in and gets a takedown into Willshire's guard.

Willshire seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Willshire really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Andersson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Willshire closes the distance and pushes Andersson back into the cage.

Willshire breaks from the clinch.

Andersson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Willshire looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Willshire has momentary wrist control but Andersson slips an elbow through the middle.
Willshire wants to stand up but Andersson is controlling him.

Andersson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Willshire looking to score a takedown here. Andersson is defending well but Willshire drives through and ends up in Andersson's guard.

Andersson has his foot on Willshire's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Willshire works his way back into a safe position though.

Andersson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Willshire off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Willshire punishes Andersson's body with a nice straight punch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Willshire is defended easily by Andersson.

Andersson connects with a right hand. Willshire shakes it off.
Willshire cracks Andersson with a good jab.
Andersson throws a combination. Willshire tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Andersson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Willshire will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close round but I would say that Alexander Andersson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Willshire tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Andersson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Andersson has a couple of punches blocked by Willshire.

The crowd are getting on Willshire's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Andersson throws a sloppy head kick

and Willshire counters by moving into the clinch.

Andersson thows a huge punch but Willshire dodges it nicely.
Andersson is looking to advance position but Willshire won't allow it.
Willshire is looking to improve his position.
Willshire is trying to stand back up but Andersson is controlling him
Willshire is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Andersson stops Willshire from getting back to his feet.
Willshire tries to get to full guard but Andersson has control of the leg.

Willshire has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Andersson is on him like a limpet, forcing Willshire back against the cage.

Willshire is trying to drag Andersson to the mat but Andersson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Andersson breaks from the clinch.
Willshire dodges the punch combination from Andersson.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Andersson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Willshire wants to stand and escape but Andersson is having none of it.
Willshire is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Willshire swings for the body but Andersson moves out of range.

Willshire passes Andersson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Willshire throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Andersson to regain full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Perdue Willshire showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Willshire moves into the clinch.

Andersson wants the takedown. Willshire is fighting it off but Andersson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Willshire's guard against the cage.

Poor strikes thrown by Andersson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Andersson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Willshire has his hands clasped together around Andersson's back. He's all about the action.
Andersson stops Willshire from getting back to his feet.

Willshire wants to improve his position but Andersson is controlling well.
Willshire is looking to control Andersson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Willshire avoid being mounted?

Andersson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Willshire is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Andersson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Andersson's back!

Perdue Willshire comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Willshire has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
