The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFarland throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rose tries to clinch there but McFarland circles away.
Rose fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McFarland avoids it really well and circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McFarland.

Rose turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rose manages to end up in side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rose doesn't manage to clinch there - McFarland circles away.
McFarland shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rose sprawls well. Rose wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McFarland gets slowly back to his feet.

Rose is trying to control the position but McFarland postures up.

McFarland got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rose has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McFarland has managed to get both his arms back between Rose's legs - danger averted.
Rose is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Rose shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McFarland pinned against the cage. McFarland gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

McFarland fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rose sprawls well initially but McFarland persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rose kicks off McFarland and gets to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kyle Rose will probably get the nod.

Rose went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Rose throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
