Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Wilson (ranked 3178 p4p, 4420 weight class) and Dustinick Cruzier (ranked 300 p4p, 386 weight class). Cruzier has chosen The Boss as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dustinick Cruzier!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Ben Hemmingworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruzier will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
It looked like Wilson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Cruzier looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Cruzier misses with a few strikes there.
Wilson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Cruzier.
Cruzier fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Cruzier is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wilson dives into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Cruzier takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The referee asks Wilson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wilson prefers to stall for the moment though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wilson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cruzier can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wilson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cruzier is trying to defend but Wilson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Wilson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cruzier looks calm but he's in trouble here. Wilson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cruzier is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Wilson lets go of the hold and Cruzier can pop his arm back in it's socket.
