The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Slim James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
James tries to clinch there but Jackson circles away.
Jackson misses with a body shot.
James dives in for a single leg takedown but Jackson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

and James counters with an inside leg kick.
James misses with a jab, cross combination.

James shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. James showed some decent athleticism there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. James connects with a nice short shot to Jackson 's temple.
Jackson is looking to get back to is feet but James passes into side control.
Jackson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but James is controlling him well.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
