Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Aldas (ranked 3997 p4p, 4714 weight class) and Lloyd Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Newton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Newton throws a leg kick but Aldas moved away.
Aldas quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

As Newton looks to move away, Aldas throws a big counter combo but Newton just gets out of the way.
Aldas throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Both fighters circling a little - Newton finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Aldas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Newton on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Aldas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Aldas seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Newton for as long as he can get away with.

Aldas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Newton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aldas has managed to get both his arms back between Newton's legs - danger averted.

Aldas fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Newton has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
