Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rudy Loens (ranked 5323 p4p, 25078 weight class) and Orlando Mcnally (ranked 428 p4p, 510 weight class). Loens's entrance music is MMA Entrance Music / Justin Gaethje. A fine choice. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rudy Loens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Orlando Mcnally!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loens has a takedown stuffed.
Mcnally throws a head kick that misses
and Loens counters with a three punch combo that has Mcnally backing up. Mcnally nods at Loens to acknowledge the strikes.
Loens with a poor takedown
and Mcnally counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Loens thinking.
We've been told by Loens's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Mcnally lands with a slapping head kick.

Mcnally darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Mcnally wants to work for an arm triangle but Loens is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Mcnally is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Loens is just riding it out for now. Mcnally eventually gives up the hold.
Mcnally throwing shots but Loens is blocking nicely.

Loens is looking for a sweep. Mcnally is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Loens is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mcnally scores with a couple of nice shots.
Mcnally seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Loens does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mcnally misses with a head shot. Loens uses the momentum to regain guard.

Loens has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Mcnally is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Mcnally has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Loens regains guard immediately.

Loens has his feet on Mcnally's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Loens shoots and misses
and Mcnally counters with a slapping leg kick.

Loens looks for a takedown but Mcnally sprawls well.
Loens goes for a double leg but Mcnally avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mcnally continues to drive forward.
Mcnally shapes to counter with a head kick.

Loens won't allow Mcnally to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcnally controls Loens momentarily but Loens frees himself.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Loens drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mcnally manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Loens has Mcnally in his guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mcnally is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Mcnally gets to his feet. Loens looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Loens with a lazy takedown attempt
and Mcnally makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Loens is looking to clinch.

Loens avoids the head kick by Mcnally.
Loens with a poor takedown
and Mcnally counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Loens fails with a takedown attempt.
Loens fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mcnally avoids it really well and circles away.
Mcnally fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Loens.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Loens is rocked!
Orlando Mcnally seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Look low, kick high! Mcnally uses the oldest trick in the book to send Loens tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Mcnally is absolutely delighted - when Loens wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
