PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Trey Diesel (ranked 24244 p4p, 24729 weight class) and Paul Webber (ranked 309 p4p, 323 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Trey Diesel has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Trey Diesel seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Webber throws the kick towards the body but Diesel avoids it.
Diesel swinging wildly here.
Diesel throws the left hand but Webber avoids the punch easily.
Diesel avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Webber connects with a leg kick.
Webber blocks a head kick by Diesel.
Webber wants to counter with a clinch but Diesel pushes him away.

Webber tries to keep at a distance but Diesel has taken the fight into the clinch.

Diesel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Diesel pivots, looking for a leg kick but Webber is out of range and Diesel settles back down.

Webber shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Webber was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Webber looks up at the clock and then as Diesel takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Webber smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Diesel is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Webber is controlling him well.

Webber throwing strikes but Diesel manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Webber is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Diesel has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Webber tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Diesel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Diesel decides to stand up, so the ref orders Webber to his feet.
Diesel tries to bum rush Webber with a series of wild strikes but Webber uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Webber moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Diesel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Webber moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Webber ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Diesel moves away.

Diesel is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Diesel wants to break free but Webber has control.

Diesel is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Webber can't fight it off and eventually Diesel manages to take the fight to the floor. Webber looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Webber has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Diesel has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Webber throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Diesel works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Diesel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Webber is controlling him.
Diesel will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Webber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diesel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Diesel throws a series of punches but Webber avoids them all with ease.

Diesel misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Webber tries to pull guard but Diesel holds him up against the cage and eventually Webber drops back down to his feet.
Webber jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Diesel walks away with a smile on his face. Webber gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Diesel clinches up with Webber and pushes him back against the cage.

A countering left hand to the body from Webber misses.
Webber throws a low kick, looking for Diesel's leg but Diesel calmly moves out of range.
Diesel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diesel throws a series of strikes that have Webber backpedaling.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Webber fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Diesel avoids it really well and circles away.
