PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kim Dong (ranked 3243 p4p, 5458 weight class) and Jacked Whiteboy (ranked 433 p4p, 596 weight class). Jacked Whiteboy will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Dong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacked Whiteboy!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whiteboy tries to clinch up.
Whiteboy leaves Dong with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dong shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Whiteboy as he jumps to the side.
Whiteboy tries to clinch up.
Dong is trying hard to land a takedown here. Whiteboy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kim Dong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Whiteboy misses with a series of wild punches.
Dong tries to counter with a takedown but Whiteboy is quick to defend against it.
Dong has his takedown stuffed
and Whiteboy counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Whiteboy tries to clinch but Dong is having none of it.

Whiteboy cracks Dong with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Whiteboy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Dong to stand back up!

Dong is rocked!
Jacked Whiteboy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dong clinches up against the cage.
Oh Dong is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dong blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Dong seems to have got his legs back now.

Dong jumps guard and drags Whiteboy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Whiteboy drops back looking for a leg! Dong is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dong manages to kick Whiteboy off! Whiteboy jumps back into Dong's guard.
Whiteboy trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dong's guard.
Dong is trying to keep Whiteboy in close.
Whiteboy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dong looking to control.
Dong keeping moving, preventing Whiteboy from controlling successfully.
Whiteboy looking to pass the guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Whiteboy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Whiteboy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Dong rushes Whiteboy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Whiteboy looking to stall.

Dong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Whiteboy tries to clinch but Dong is having none of it.
Dong shoots in but Whiteboy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Whiteboy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dong.
Dong misses with a jab, cross combination.
Whiteboy tries to close the distance and clinch but Dong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Whiteboy tries to clinch up.
As Whiteboy looks to move away, Dong throws a big counter combo but Whiteboy just gets out of the way.
Whiteboy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dong manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dong tries to land a body kick
letting Whiteboy counter with a right hand.
Dong shoots in looking for a takedown but Whiteboy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dong's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Dong will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Whiteboy! But no joy.
Dong tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Whiteboy swivels and escapes.
Whiteboy appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Whiteboy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Whiteboy throws a nice looking combination but Dong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Whiteboy tries to clinch there but Dong circles away.
Dong throws a half hearted mid kick.

Whiteboy drops Dong with a beautiful combination! Dong stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Whiteboy is looking for the KO!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Whiteboy scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Dong throws a lazy head kick
and Whiteboy counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Dong! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Whiteboy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacked Whiteboy!
