Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Liam Murphy (ranked 3068 p4p, 4026 weight class) and Tommy Vercetti (ranked 386 p4p, 465 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Murphy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Vercetti misses with a hook. Murphy ducked under it nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Murphy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vercetti swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Murphy has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad The Island in the buildup to the fight.
Vercetti throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Murphy gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vercetti has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Vercetti scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Murphy pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vercetti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Murphy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vercetti has managed to get both his arms back between Murphy's legs - danger averted.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vercetti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murphy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Murphy is looking to cinch up a triangle. Vercetti throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Murphy's body to avoid the submission. Murphy has instead reached around Vercetti's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Murphy arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
