Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Bernard (ranked 4789 p4p, 4708 weight class) and Buakaw Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee blocks a head kick by Bernard.
Lee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Lee has Bernard up against the cage in a clinch.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lee keeps the fight on the outside.
Lee unleashes a big counter combination but Bernard bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Lee drives through and clinches with Bernard against the cage.
Bernard tries to pull guard but Lee won't allow it.

Bernard tries to clinch but Lee moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bernard is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lee on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bernard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lee wants to get back to his feet.
Well, if Bernard is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bernard in particular looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bernard. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet.

Bernard smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Lee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bernard shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lee defends it nicely.
Bernard displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee.
Pierre Bernard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Buakaw Lee.

Bernard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lee was covering up waiting for the punch and Bernard finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Lee is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Bernard decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bernard moves into the clinch.
Lee lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bernard fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lee closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bernard circles away.

Lee closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bernard to the mat! Bernard manages to get full guard.

Bernard pushes Lee off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Bernard misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bernard shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bernard dives in and scores a takedown into Lee's guard.

Lee wriggles free and stands up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lee fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bernard avoids it really well and circles away.
Left hook, right uppercut from Bernard.
Lee is breathing heavily.

Nice takedown defense from Bernard. No joy for Lee on that attempt.

Lee shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lee showed some decent athleticism there.

Bernard manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Bernard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bernard throws a sloppy head kick and Lee moves out of range easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bernard.
Lee bucks up and tries to throw Bernard off but instead Bernard has got his back!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bernard is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
I really don't envy Lee right now.
Bernard has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Lee's body.
Bernard scores with strikes from the back.
Lee trying to control the action but Bernard just sinks the hooks in.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Lee is trying to stand back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lee is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Bernard connects with a big shot to the side of Lee's head.
Lee is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Bernard.

Bernard has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Lee! Can he survive? No! He's out! Bernard gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
