PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sven Dunkan (ranked 4943 p4p, 5042 weight class) and Babel Nahismo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dunkan gets a takedown into half guard.

Nahismo has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Dunkan is on him like a limpet, forcing Nahismo back against the cage.

Dunkan successfully pulls guard.
Nahismo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dunkan is on top in guard.

Nahismo wants to sweep here but Dunkan controlling him for the moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dunkan stands and steps away. Nahismo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Dunkan 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Nahismo feints and as Dunkan raises his hands in defense, Nahismo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Nahismo is looking to pass into half guard but Dunkan pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Dunkan is in guard.

Dunkan wants to control from the top but Nahismo keeps moving.

Nahismo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Nahismo has his foot on Dunkan 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dunkan works his way back into a safe position though.
Nahismo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dunkan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nahismo has managed to free his arm - good work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Nahismo is trying to escape back to his feet but Dunkan uses the scramble to pass into side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Sven Dunkan will probably get the nod.

Dunkan dives in and grabs Nahismo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nahismo pushes down on Dunkan 's head and hops out.

Dunkan is looking to take a break and control but Nahismo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dunkan connects with a nice short shot to Nahismo's temple.

Dunkan wants to control from the top but Nahismo keeps moving.

Babel Nahismo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

You get the feeling that Nahismo really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
