Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thor White!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Karuso!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White misses with a looping right.
Karuso tries to counter by closing the distance.
White keeps the fight on the outside.
Karuso throws a jab when White was well out of range.
Karuso throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
White throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Karuso ducks under a wild hook from White.
White is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Karuso.
Karuso bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
White takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Karuso just misses with a punch to the body.
White throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Karuso sees it coming and avoids it easily.
White throws an overhand right that lands on Karuso's shoulder, as Karuso tries to avoid the shot.
White lands a lovely overhand right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karuso misses with a hook. White ducked under it nicely.

and White connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

White definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

White ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Karuso lands with a shot to the body.
White takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Frank Karuso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karuso changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
White displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Karuso throws out the jab.
White uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Karuso.
A swing and a miss from White.

and Karuso counters by moving into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

White tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Karuso just stands there and leans against the cage.

Karuso digs a right hand underneath White's ribcage. White let out a lung full of air as it connected.
White tries to pull guard but Karuso holds him up against the cage and eventually White drops back down to his feet.
Karuso lands a shoulder strike.
White tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Nice body punch from Karuso - that landed with a thud.
Karuso lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of White backwards.

White manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Karuso wants to control from the top but White keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Karuso controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Karuso has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

White is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Karuso is aware though and is defending well.

White is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

White had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Karuso defends it easily.

White looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Karuso is defending well. White quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Karuso has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! White celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Thor White!
