Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drew King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luis Bowers!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowers lands a head kick!
Bowers buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
King has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Las Vegas in the buildup to the fight.
Bowers lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
King misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
King throws a body shot but no joy.
Bowers wants to clinch
and King counters with a stiff right hand.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bowers.
King is looking for a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King misses with a two punch combination.
Bowers looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Bowers misses with a series of wild punches.

Bowers clinches up with King and pushes him back against the cage.
King wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bowers has him pressed against the cage.
King is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bowers to keep the fight standing.
Bowers wants a takedown.
Bowers has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. King avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Drew King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Bowers.

Bowers jumps guard and drags King to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Drew King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
King's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and King duly obliges.
King stuffs the takedown attempt from Bowers. Bowers gets slowly back to his feet.
King is looking to counter punch.

A punch combination from King misses.
King misses with a wild body shot.
Bowers fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bowers throws a head kick that misses.
Bowers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bowers is defended easily by King.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
King throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bowers stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Drew King will probably get the nod.
That's time! King's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

King lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bowers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side.
Luis Bowers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bowers scores with a spinning back kick!
Bowers dives in and grabs King's left leg, looking for a takedown. King pushes down on Bowers's head and hops out.
Bowers tries to score a power double leg takedown but King sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bowers somewhat.
King was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Drew King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Bowers.

No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bowers fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bowers goes for a double leg but King avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as King continues to drive forward.

and King counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Bowers doesn't manage to clinch there - King circles away.

and King connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
King scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A punch lands to the side of Bowers 's head but he takes it in his stride.
King is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
King misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bowers looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
King is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bowers can do to turn this around?

King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bowers shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Bowers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

King throws a nice looking combination but Bowers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bowers tries to close the distance and clinch but King swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

King scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

and King counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Bowers is looking to clinch.
King is looking to wear down Bowers with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

King lands with a nice combination. Bowers backs away looking to recover.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King lands with a nice body punch.
Bowers darts in looking for a takedown but King gets double underhooks and turns Bowers into the cage.
King went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
King throws a series of strikes that have Bowers backpedaling.
Drew King is winning the standup battle so far.
King lands with a nice combination. Bowers backs away looking to recover.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

and King counters with a nice uppercut.

and King counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Bowers tries to clinch but fails miserably
and King cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bowers takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
King is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bowers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Danga de danga de dang - King scores with a four punch combination!
Bowers darts in looking for a takedown but King gets double underhooks and turns Bowers into the cage.

and King counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
King defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bowers.
King's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bowers under the eye.

King ducks right into an uppercut from Bowers.
King lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bowers at a distance.
King digs a good body shot into Bowers's ribs.
Bowers fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A lazy left from King finds it's target.
King scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Bowers goes for a double leg but King avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as King continues to drive forward.
Bowers walks into a jab.
Nice body punch from King.
Bowers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. King tries to avoid it but Bowers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag King to the ground. King escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
King clobbers Bowers with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Bowers is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
Bowers walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bowers.

And that's the end of the fight!
Drew King showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for King, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
