Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daren Goon (ranked 4990 p4p, 5048 weight class) and Mac Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marshall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Goon did well to prevent Marshall getting side control.

Marshall decides to stand and escape the position.
Mac Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Marshall.
Marshall misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Marshall fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Goon, pushing him back against the cage.

Marshall lands a takedown into guard.
Goon is looking to stand back up but Marshall counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Goon.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marshall controlling the action here.
Let's hope that Marshall has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Marshall is looking for a kimura but Goon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Marshall to get the leverage.
Marshall is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Marshall works his way into side control.
Marshall controlling the position.
Goon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Goon tries to get out of the position.
Marshall looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Goon is avoiding damage well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Marshall tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Goon is not content to let Marshall control the position.
Goon is looking to reverse the position.
Marshall postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Goon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marshall on the ground.

Goon being controlled for a moment.

Marshall stands up and beckons Goon to his feet.
Goon lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Goon.
Goon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Goon wants it to stay on the feet.
Goon thuds his right hand into Marshall's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Goon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Marshall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Marshall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Marshall is standing up over Goon. Goon looks to escape but Marshall dives into side control.

A lull in the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marshall has hold of Goon's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Goon tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Marshall cranks the arm and Goon screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Goon, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
