The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viitta changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Jones doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Viitta rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Jones counters with a crisp right hand that drops Viitta! Jones lets Viitta back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

It looks like Heikki Viitta has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A solid leg kick lands there for Viitta.
Viitta is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?
Jones tries to move into range but Viitta moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Crunch! Viitta slams his shin into Jones's torso.
Viitta connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jones momentarily.
Jones takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Viitta is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Jones throws a body shot but no joy.
Viitta seems to have recovered his senses.

and Jones counters with a nice right hand that sends Viitta toppling to the canvas! Viitta scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Jones finish him?!
Viitta scores with a hook to the body. Jones takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Viitta has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
