Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Perry Platypus (ranked 4750 p4p, 6973 weight class) and Choi Kang Ta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Perry Platypus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Choi Kang Ta!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Platypus looking to score a takedown here. Kang Ta is defending well but Platypus drives through and ends up in Kang Ta's guard.
Platypus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Platypus controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Platypus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kang Ta looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kang Ta trying to keep a closed guard but Platypus is proving a slippery customer.
Platypus seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Platypus gets to his feet. Kang Ta looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Kang Ta closes this distance looking for a takedown but Platypus circles away.
Platypus tries to counter with a takedown but Kang Ta is quick to defend against it.
Platypus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Platypus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Platypus is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kang Ta is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
A lull in the action here as Platypus stalls from top position.
Kang Ta is trying to improve his position.
Kang Ta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Platypus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Platypus slows the pace down.

Platypus looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Platypus tries for a kimura but Kang Ta is defending well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Platypus scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kang Ta to see if he's OK.
Platypus just content to control the position.
Platypus is looking to take a break and control but Kang Ta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Platypus decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Platypus shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kang Ta scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Platypus manages to mount him!

Platypus scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Kang Ta regains half guard.
Platypus seems to be working for a kimura but Kang Ta defends the submission attempt.
Still in half guard, Platypus seems content to control.
Platypus is nestled in close to Kang Ta, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Platypus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Perry Platypus dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kang Ta gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kang Ta has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Platypus has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Kang Ta wants the takedown. Platypus is fighting it off but Kang Ta persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Platypus's guard against the cage.
Platypus is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Platypus obliges.
Platypus looking for a takedown.
Kang Ta is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Platypus to keep the fight standing.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Platypus gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kang Ta.
Platypus works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Kang Ta is looking to stand back up but Platypus counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kang Ta.

Platypus is looking for a kimura here.
Platypus looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kang Ta tries to get to full guard but Platypus has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Platypus is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Platypus has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Platypus's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Platypus in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kang Ta tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Platypus!
