The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paulssen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
The fighters circling - Nyla throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Paulssen thuds his right hand into Nyla's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Paulssen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nyla looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Paulssen defending well as Nyla loads up on a big left hand.
Nyla steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Paulssen.
Nyla takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Nyla closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nyla tries a body shot but Paulssen blocks it.
Nyla misses with some punches.
Paulssen is trying to break the clinch but Nyla has him pressed against the cage.

Nyla's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Paulssen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Paulssen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nyla to the mat! Nyla manages to get full guard.

Paulssen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Paulssen working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Nyla turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Paulssen off and cradles Nyla's limp body as Paulssen celebrates with his corner.
