Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jako Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joey Bob Potatohauler!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Potatohauler to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Jako Day has been cut.

Potatohauler rushes Day and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Potatohauler is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Day is keeping busy.
Potatohauler looking to stall.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Day.
Day can't find room to land a body shot as Potatohauler controls the action.

Potatohauler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Day fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Sloppy strikes from Day. Those never looked like landing.
Jako Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Day fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Day misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Potatohauler counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Potatohauler darts in and clinches Day up against the ropes.
Day tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Potatohauler's elbow.
Potatohauler blocks an uppercut.
Potatohauler lands a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Day struggles to land a body shot inside as Potatohauler controls his hands.

Potatohauler manages to break the clinch.

Potatohauler fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Day, pushing him back against the ropes.
Day goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Potatohauler is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Day breaks the clinch.

Potatohauler takes the fight into the clinch.

Potatohauler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Potatohauler darts in and clinches Day up against the ropes.
Potatohauler blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Potatohauler breaks from the clinch.
Day throws a leg kick
enabling Potatohauler to counter with a crisp jab.

Potatohauler clinches up against the ropes.
Potatohauler prevents a body shot from Day.
Day manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Potatohauler's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Day throws a right hand that misses
enabling Potatohauler to counter with a crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Potatohauler takes the fight into the clinch.
Potatohauler prevents a body shot from Day.

Potatohauler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Day throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Despite the aggression on Potatohauler's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Potatohauler closes the distance and clinches.

Potatohauler manages to break the clinch.
Day throws a half hearted mid kick.
Potatohauler paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Day throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Potatohauler staying out of range there.

Potatohauler pushes Day up against the ropes in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Potatohauler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Potatohauler connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Day misses with a body punch
and Potatohauler counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Day throws a combination that misses
and Potatohauler counters with a stiff right hand.

Day is rocked!
Nice defenses there by Potatohauler.
Oh Day is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Potatohauler checks a leg kick.
Day seems to have got his legs back now.
A lazy body kick from Day
and Potatohauler counters with a big left hand that crumples Day! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joey Bob Potatohauler!
Joey Bob Potatohauler decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
